NEW YORK Omnicom Group's OMD has tapped two executives from Interpublic's Initiative to fill key roles for in the former's West Coast operations.
Greg Castronuovo is joining OMD as managing director, OMD West. He will be based in Los Angeles, leading that office along with San Francisco and Seattle. Castronuovo replaces Monica Karo, who was promoted to president, OMD global accounts, for Apple and Nissan.
Jonathan Haber joins as U.S. director of a newly formed Los Angeles-based unit called The Factory: Ignition 3.0, which is tasked with developing innovative media applications and services.
A 20-year media industry veteran, Castronuovo joins OMD after spending the last several years as svp, entertainment at Initiative in New York, where he managed the CBS, Showtime, AOL, Fuse and Nikon accounts. Haber joins after five years at Initiative, where, most recently he ran the Innovations department on the West Coast.
The hires come less than a month after Alan Cohen joined OMD as CEO of U.S. operations following a three-year stint at Initiative where he established the Innovations unit and headed the shop's Western ops.
Even so, North American CEO Page Thompson took credit for brining both Haber and Castronuovo into the OMD fold.
