Latest NewsOMD Australia Sweeps the Board at the Media Federation Awards 2008!OMD’s global gold standard of media creativity was highly visible again last Thursday with OMD Australia taking home 7 MFA awards, including the coveted Grand Prix October 20, 2008OMD Australia has continued to raise the bar in terms of industry achievements, topping the Media Federation of Australia’s Awards shortlist this year with 13 finalists – more than any other agency in the history of the awards. And last Thursday (13th October) OMD took home a staggering 7 trophies – almost half of the awards – in a diverse range of categories, including the Grand Prix for V-Raw, OMD’s highly awarded campaign created for Frucor’s V Energy Drink. Award wins included Naomi Buck’s entry in the inaugural NGeN Award for young media communication professionals and the Pro-Bono/ Cause Marketing Incentive award in recognition of Pam Lane for OMD: Giving Something Back, OMD’s 3-tiered approach to corporate social responsibility. V-Raw for V Energy Drink took home the Beverages category as well as the overall Grand Prix prize, which saw John Gamvros, Strategist from OMD Fuse, presented with a $200,000 media package by Grand Prix sponsor SMG Red. The ‘World’s Biggest Online Beach Party’ campaign for Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit brand also won two awards, one in the Food/ Grocery category, and the other for Best One-Off Media Innovation. And last but not least, Hasbro’s Monopoly "Stand Up Australia!" campaign took home the Media/Entertainment/Travel/Leisure category Mark Coad, CEO of OMD Australia, said "this is absolutely brilliant. It talks to the commitment we had to show off our best work and it talks to the consistency and quality of the work leaving the building every day. Having ideas without being able to implement them is only half the job. And we do both in exemplary fashion.
